These two flew into our yard this morning,... couldn't believe our eyes. Pretty little things. They didn't stay long, just long enough to show off for us to get a few pictures.

Kind Regards,

They are so pretty TJ. Someone is probably sad at losing their birds.

I was in town and stopped at the local pet food store to ask if anyone mentioned the two birds... nope. Unfortunately around here it's not uncommon for owners to just let the birds go when they decide the pets are not working out as they thought :(
Two years ago in the fall a Cockatoo was found in town sitting on the IGA garbage dumpster (just happened to be grocery shopping that day) - was very friendly and even spoke a few words. Had an ID band, stupid owner left it on when he released the bird. Local Vet tracked the band... the Cockatoo was from Brampton, that's 2.5hrs west from Newcastle. Owner denied releasing the bird but didn't want it back either... some people.
I don't understand why people just release exotic animals (I guess non native would be a better term?). I'm sure there are plenty of people that would love to have those birds, a simple note in a local pet store and they'd be gone IMO. By the way, I grew up about 10 minutes from New Castle.........PA that is. :D Out of curiosity, do you walk around with a camera constantly? One of these days I need to get me another camera.

Such cuties! I love budgies :) My mom has one and he's just a hoot!
I'd rescue a bird in a heartbeat. I had several parrots and loved them.
Makes me wonder how those people who just throw away living animals treat their kids.
