Hi! Guys and Gals,
I am looking for an old friend who also was a member of Tom's Place "awhile back". She used her real name, which is "Nancy" and I think her email alias was "aquageek:. Nancy was living in Flint Michigan then and I assume she is still there.
Anyway, I've lost contact with her over the years and would very much like to get in touch with her.
Nancy and I were quite active on the "Chat" and we both were moderators for a few of the different forums that used to be here; I did Cats for awhile.
One of the members I remember from "back then" was a fellow who lived and worked up in the NW Territories, I thing his handle was "Tundra", but I always called him the Ice Man! There was young fellow (not so young now though) named Brandon that I remember and I'm thinking he was raising Bettas back then, or at least trying to. I remember a Don D and Astro. That's really reaching back and thing have changed here a LOT in the last decade (or close to it).
Tom you still got that big old Mountian Man look!?!
What happened to the on line magazine, "AQUASCAPES" I think was the name of it. When "Digger" died I lost all interest in fishkeeping and took down all my tanks, even sold a couple of the big tanks. Oh! One of the members at that time had a crocodile as a pet! I just remembered that! I did "borrow" a few comet goldfish last summer to keep the "skeeter" population down, they went back to the farm pond this fall as my 125-150 gallon stock tank freezes soild. I'll be getting new babies this spring and fatten them up on "skeeter wigglers", only this time I may be able to set up one of the bigger tanks that I kept and keep these, or at least a couple of them.
Enough chit-chat. Please if anyone knows Nancy and how I can get in touch with her, PM me with the particulars, or I can give you my email address.
Thanks bunches!
Rebecca

Hey...another old face returns to the fold....
You want Nancy Green...and i too assume she is still in Flint. I googled Nancy Green Flint Michigan and got a result that I wont post here due to respecting personal info..but do that and you will find info you need.
You brought back some real strong memories with some of those names...and if you look around a little...some of those names are here...
Brandon...DonD...Astro...they are amongst the living here.
And yes...still doing the Mountain Man look...although heart attack and diabetes are going to force the end of that I fear....health is not what it used to be.
Good luck in your quest...and please do stick around! Tom's place is now a place for friends...old friends. No fish...no problem. All are welcome to stay and enjoy.

Tom,
Thank you for your response! I finally thought to do just that last night/early this morning and then promptly forgot all about trying it! Isn't old age fun!
Not too happy to hear of your health issues but very glad to hear you recovered from your heart attack! Diet, moderate exercise and medication, seems many of us either need or are on all of those regiems.
I may not have any fishies these days but I do still have my feline companions, emphasis on the plurality of that word. I have 6 and am fostering a 7th. as well as keeping food available for all the neighborhood felines that no one seems to feed when the weather is nasty - not even their owners.
Wish I could remember more of the "old crowd", especially every who met up at the Fish Auction all those years ago, unfortunately the old memory often refuses to kick in!
I'll stop by now and then, but I don't do much of anything very exciting these days. I do hybridized Daylilies and garden (some) but even that is getting difficult to do like I used to.
All y'all have a great weekend and Tom, you keep well!
Rebecca

im here! sadly i as well do not have any fish again although at my dads place i do have a 6-700 gallon pond i might spend some time on this year to get it back and running for him....
about the only person i have outside of here contacts with is catnip, i see astro on aim every once in a while but he usually gets off before i can send a hi to him
And yes...still doing the Mountain Man look...although heart attack and diabetes are going to force the end of that I fear....health is not what it used to be.
Let's hope this new forum will help ease the stress level. Some of those "good ol' days" weren't, and I know that took a lot out of you. But the sun continues to come up every morning, so relax and enjoy the ride!

Ummmmm Don one word...................NO!!!
Tc, no,haven't had those in years, I have learned my lesson with those little turds.
Astro, have you set up the 110 yet? Just curious if you decided on africans from the rivers or lakes tanganyika or victoria or possibly malawian feeders.

nope, not set up yet. I still need to reseal it. Tangs will go in it. Cyps, Altolamps and some other things will go in it, and I'll have an empty 55 to fill too. The GCCA Cichlid classic is coming up with one of the best auctions in the states so I'll ahve lote to choose from. Anyone wishing to send me free tangs should email me..........................................lol  :D :) ;)
Astro, funny you should mention Cyps - I went to the Pittsburgh auction Sunday and picked up a few Cyprichromis leptosoma "malasay". I've been wanting cyps for several years, can't wait till these guys grow up and show some color. Sorry, not enough to send you any yet.
Sev, I also got a few A. myrnae, under an inch, but looking forward to them also.
Amber, the malawians went cheap in Pittsburgh too, even the electric yellows (buck a bag) - I don't need feeders so I didn't bother with the malawians except for a few Protomeas fenestratus. Didn't have money to buy much, but since it was only an hour from me, it was nice to go and just talk fish with total stranger. Fish auctions are nice, most of the people there are usually very easy going unless theres a fish they really want - then they can be ruthless ;-)

Hey Rebecca,
Long time. I'm not nancy, but I'm that guy that had the crocodilian.
I'm now living down in NC, and I've scaled back my fish keeping. Right now, although I have 4 tanks up and running, only 2 have fish. One has that same Florida Gar that I've had for 9 years now, and the other has a small school of black phantom tetras. Who'd have guessed it, eh?
I'm working on setting up cages for my new project, two mexican red rattlesnakes (Crotalus exsul, formerly C. ruber) http://www.californiaherps.com/snakes/pages/c.ruber.html
I still have the wolfdogs, and both are doing well down here. Although they have started howling with a southern accent and calling shopping carts "buggies". I still haven't figured that one out.
Sorry to hear about Digger, he was a magnificent fish.

Things have been well. Works still eating my arse up. Nothings changes over expect the number of tanks and the amount of stock.
